An Overview of Biometric Identifiers with Emphasis on the Concept and Applications of Finger Vein Recognition

Protection of data with codes that can be forgotten or cracked is often insufficient; furthermore security with what you have i.e. ID cards or keys that can be stolen or damaged is not the best. Data security is not just an issue to be treated with levity because leakage of data to an intruder can be disastrous. This paper will discuss another approach to security through the concept of what we are i.e. (biometrics), give a brief overview of its classification and finally shed more light on a branch of biometrics which is new but has been found effective.
