ON THE ISSUE OF EMIGRE HISTORIOGRAPHY OF THE RUSSIAN PROVISIONAL GOVERNMENT’S ACTIVITIES

Abstract
The article presents the first analysis of the views of emigre historians, the pioneers of Russian studies in the US G. V. Vernadsky, M. M. Karpovich and M. T. Florinsky, at the activities of the Provisional Government. Relying upon the major works of these scientists, the author points up general approaches to evaluation of The Provisional Government’ activities and cabinet by historians emigrated to the USA. The author concludes that the emigres did not consider The Provisional Government to be doomed to fail and placed the most responsibility on the incompetence of its members.
