Abstract
The objectives of this classroom action research were to indentify the effects of the two programs of petongue training skills: program designed by the researcher combined with the normal program and the normal program only and compare the effects of such the two programs. The samples were 40 female undergraduate students of Prince of Songkla University. The subjects were purposively selected and divided into two groups. The training time was eight weeks that were consisted of the three lists with 20 items of the petongue training skills: 5 items for roll throw, 5 items for lob throw, 10 items for shot on the iron, and 6 items for testing the petongue skills. The comparisons between pre and post training of each program were analyzed using paired t-test and comparisons between the two groups were compared using unpaired t-test. The study results revealed that the group who trained with the program designed by the researcher combined with the normal program (group 1) had a statistical significance (p<0.05) between pre and post training skills; whereas, those who trained with the normal program only (group 2) were not significant. In comparisons between group 1 and group 2, group 1 had better skills than those of the group 2 with a statistical significance (p<0.05).
