UNDERVALUED MAGNUM OPUS: CHIZHIKOVA LAVRA IN I.S. SOKOLOV-MIKITOV'S CREATIVE WORK

I.S. Sokolov-Mikitov's story “Chizhikova Lavra”, unrecognized neither during writer’s lifetime, nor after his death, has a lot of the innovative methods unusual to creative author’s “credo”. This article is devoted to the specification of literary priorities of I.S. Sokolov-Mikitov based on the analysis of letter writing with friends and publishers and to review of place of the story “Chizhikova Lavra” in author’s creative evolution.
