Abstract
The subject of this article is the philosophical ideas of Martin Luther and their role in the Protestant musical tradition. In the article the analysis fiilosofsko-Religious ideas, principles and conceptual basis that Protestant musical tradition attributed to Martin Luther, the basic trends in church music, initiated by Martin Luther; Luther singled principles using his approach to music church music and music as art functionality to worship, revealed how the ideas of Martin Luther on the use of music in the church today appear in Protestantism.
