Abstract
A comparative analysis of the clinical and laboratory manifestations of HIV infection was performed in two groups of patients: 62 patients infected with R5-tropic HIV variant and 35 patients infected with non R5-tropic variant of the virus. HIV tropism was determined by sequencing the gene V3 region of gp120 gene (FPR = 20%). We found no significant differences in the frequency of clinical stages of HIV infection (WHO, 2012), AIDS, opportunistic infections, mortality, the level of CD4 + and CD8 + lymphocytes and HIV viral load in patients infected with different HIV tropism. A longer length of HIV infection in patients infected with non R5-tropic variant of the virus was established.
