Abstract
Techno-stress is described as individuals' inability to effectively deal with information and communication technologies (ICTs). Addressing it is important because stressed individuals' productivity is adversely affected. We contribute to techno-stress literature by studying the impact of information overload and task-technology fit on techno-stress. We propose that information overload worsens techno-stress, whereas situations of tasktechnology fit alleviate techno-stress in individuals. Results from surveying 664 working professionals provide support for our proposed model. The implications from our study are discussed and provide an avenue for organizations to address techno-stress.
