Abstract
In this research the primary schools which are relating to the Ministry of Education has been examined for their appropriateness level of the defined standards of The Institute of Turkish Standards. With this aim the schools in Uşak province have been chosen as the research region.
As The Institute of Turkish Standards 9518 was published in 2000, the schools which had been built before that date were examined. An observation form which contains 5 main rules and 72 rules has been developed and it has been used as an expert opinion. The data which had been gained from the observation result were examined as a frequency and percentage dispersion. The levels of rule application, existence and absence of these schools which were the subject of the research were revealed. When the official 17 primary schools are examined it has been seen that some of these standards hadn't been considered for the planning of the school buildings. Also it has been seen that some of the rules were in deficient level.
