Abstract

In this article the author considers some issues of history of Kazakh emigrant journalistics. In relation to emigrant journalistics, the author distinguishes such notions as expatriate, emigrants and irredentists. In the article soecial attention is given to editorial, publishing activities of an outstanding Kazakh political and public man – M. Shokay, who is considered a founder of Kazakh emigrant journalistics. In the article a number of issues in Kazakh, published and being published abroad, the content of their materials, ideology of these media, their role in life of Kazakh emigrants are analysed. The author of this paper grades emigrant journalistics as means inspiring to fight for independence, building free nation, development of national consciousness.
