The author considers the peculiarities of the activity of the class teacher in the school in the article. The main objectives facing him are defined. The role of the teacher changes depending on age, experience of collective, self - administrative activity of children. The attention to functions of the class manager is paid. The structure of the educational plan of work of the class teacher is analyzed.
