Abstract

The author studies web quest technology as a modern technology for foreign language learning in a high school during independent, educational and cognitive activity of students of a higher educational estanlishment. It is indicated that student motivation to self-education is the factor of his professional development as an individual and professional in future. The author's definition of the essence of a concept of foreign language communicative competence is given. It is noted that the use of the internet resources is not only a means for active leisure, but also a means foreign language communicative competence formation due comparison, analysis, discussion and selection of necessary information. An important emphasis on the use of hours allocated in curriculum for independent, educational and cognitive activity of students is done. The usage of Internet resources not only as a means of leisure time spending but it is regarded as an active participant of a future specialists professional training process as well.
