Abstract
This article says that in primary school it is necessary to develop the thinking of younger students not only during their stay in school, but also on excursions. The author considers such form of the organization of training at which the pupil becomes the subject of activity in the process of knowledge of new. The sequence of assimilation of new information is presented by the example of the formation of the method of comparison: stu- dents under the guidance of the teacher recognize the characteristic features of objects, learn to recognize them, note the essential and non-essential features. Students are taught that the characteristic feature of an object is what is inherent in the object
