Abstract

In the article the composition of a boiling bath for the preparation of polyester-cotton-linen fabric in a periodic method is proposed. Studies were conducted on the fabric TPK-11 produced by private joint stock company “Edelvika” (Lutsk). Was determined the effect of alkaline agents, reducing agents and surfactants on the indicators of quality of boiled and bleached polyester-cotton-linen fabric: capillarity, hygroscopicity, wettability, breaking load and degree of whiteness. It is determined that the maximum indicators of capillarity and degree of whiteness are achieved at concentrations of sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate of 6% and 7.5%. The using of reducing agents: sodium bisulfite and sodium dithionite slightly increases the capillarity, wettability and hygroscopicity, but promotes to increase indicators of the breaking load and the degree of whiteness. As a result of performed experimental research and analysis of the influence of components and their concentrations in the boiling bath on the hydrophilic properties, strength and degree of whiteness of flax-containing textile material, the choice of sodium carbonate as an alkaline agent and sodium dithionite as a reducing agent are justified. Composition for boiling of polyester-cotton-linen fabric containing sodium carbonate – 6%, surfactant (Kolovet AN) – 0.35%, sodium dithionite (Na2S2O4) – 2%, is recommended.
