Política social: el camino pa ra la lucha contra la pobreza en Colombia

The concept of poverty in general terms defines as “lack of what is necessary to live”, but is much more complex, it is an issue that has been intended to define within multiple economic variables but there is still no agreement on how to define it, nor such as establishing a general measurement by different circumstances of each society, each epoch and multiple variables that can deliver the results and therefore the vision of social policy to address it, so that each country is unique and must adapt policies to its contextThis article is an approximation to the analysis of social problems: How, why and why does the Colombian state join forces to eliminate poverty in its territory? and how does this respon-sibility assume that is enshrined in the Political Constitution of the country as an alternative to achieve an approach to social equity? In that order of ideas, historical monitoring will be made of the indicators obtained by different methodologies that the Colombian state has carried out to fulfill its responsibility. It also discusses the methodology used to calculate the Multidimen-sional Poverty Index and the effects that responded to the social policy generated as a result of this study.
