Abstract

This study analyzed through Bibliometrics and Social Networks Analysis the characteristics of the Brazilian scientific production on Covid-19 present in the Web of Science database from March to August 2020. The methodological design was documentary bibliographic, with character of descriptive analysis and quali-quantitative approach. From a survey of data by intentional non-probabilistic sampling in the Web of Science database, a total of 352 documents were obtained using the keyword “Covid-19” in the main search operator and with secondary filters in full text articles with publication period from March 1, 2020 to August 31, 2020 and country of origin Brazil. The results indicate that the authors who produce the most scientific articles on Covid-19 in Brazil under Lotka's Law are Giovanetti, Da Silva and Struchiner, and the journals with the most publications related to this same theme under Bradford's Law are Notebooks Public Health and Technology and Society Magazine. The most addressed thematic area in the articles is about Occupational Environmental Public Health and the entities that most finance the investigations are CNPQ, CAPES and FAPESP. In the Social Networks Analysis, by bibliographic coupling, it is shown that Giovanetti and Angeletti and USP and Fundação Osvaldo Cruz are, respectively, the most central authors and institutions in social research networks. The results are expected to contribute as a bibliographic information source for all stakeholders who appreciate research on Covid-19 conducted in Brazil.
