The set of issues related to the provision of economic security of the enterprise requires managers of different levels to have sufficiently deep theoretical knowledge and practical skills for making efficient managerial decisions. Ensuring a normalized and efficient business activity of an individual enterprise is the most important aspect of achieving a certain level of economic security. Any connection with time may be interrupted or broken under the influence of various circumstances, and therefore the activity of the enterprise is subject to constant danger. Violation of communication channels may occur for the following reasons: as a result of competition (honest and unfair); changes in the environment, which forces the company to revise the terms of the contract or agreement (price changes, tax legislation, social and political situation); with the appearance of more favorable offers (more profitable contract, more attractive working conditions); changes in personal relationships between managers; changes in the physical conditions of the movement of commodity, financial and labor resources (as a result of accidents and other catastrophes, changes in customs conditions, the emergence of new boundaries or regional relations). The purpose of the paper is to highlight the priority areas for strengthening the economic security of food industry enterprises. The theoretical and methodological basis of scientific research are the fundamental positions of economic theory, the theory of economic mediation and modern management concepts, as well as scientific works of foreign and Ukrainian scientists devoted to problems of ensuring the effective development of economic security. In the process of solving problems, we used the following methods of scientific knowledge: general scientific; comparative and statistical analysis; system-structural analysis; grouping; economic-mathematical modeling. The main results obtained are the use of scientific and practical principles and the substantiation of the mechanisms of economic security of the enterprise to solve problems related to the development of economic security of food industry enterprises. Scientific novelty. It is to deepen theoretical and methodical principles and develop practical recommendations for strengthening the economic safety of food industry enterprises.
