Role and Significance of Information and Library Work in Information Support of Educational Process of Economics Courses Studying

Ukraine's integration into world community and its focus on European research and education space updated the problem of increasing the significance of libraries in educational process. Libraries assumed information support of education and science processes in these conditions. Functioning of library under such circumstances converts the implementation of transformation into the tasks of strategic nature, and competition from the side of information environment promotes active implementation of innovations]. The basis of information support of students and teachers of the university is created by internal resources of the library: textbooks, monographs, educational and teaching publications in printed and electronic formats. Educational collection is formed by cooperation of departments and by joint analysis of problems. But no library is able to ensure users' inquiries fully. That is why libraries of higher educational establishments provide open access to world digital libraries, enter into contracts regarding long-term use, obtain temporary access to them, and that extends completeness of information support. The aim of the study is the reasoning of necessity of transformation of libraries as information centers of education and the necessity of transformation of its role in educational process and information support of educational process; determining tasks which are assigned to libraries of universities: formation of scientific library collection in accordance with library users' requirements; teaching students to search information independently, to master traditional and innovative service methods, to execute information search and processing results effectively. For these tasks accomplishment collaborative work of university departments and library is needed. Thus the whole system of library services creates conditions for supporting students and teachers with quality information products, improves the quality of education, dissemination of own resources among science community, provides access to internal and to remote educational information resources which leads to preparation of highly qualified specialists as a result.
