Methods of development of andragogical competence of teachers

Abstract

The article considers the methods of enhancing teachers' andragogical competence in formal and non-formal education. It is highlighted that enhancing andragogical competence is a component of teachers' professionalization and it can take various forms (dual, institutional, work forms, etc.) through: participation in webinars, workshops, seminars, certification programs, trainings; trainings held in compliance with the educational program; internships, etc. It is determined that for the successful professional activity of a teacher it is important to carry out continuous training, which promotes adaptation to dynamic changes in the environment. It is noted that enhancing andragogical competence is a component of continuous teachers' training, which involves the gradual renewal of knowledge, skills, abilities, professional qualities and life experience. It is emphasized that in the educational process it is advisable to take into account such features of an adult as accumulated life experience, critical perception of information, the desire for independence in learning and involvement in its organization, giving preference to the applied aspect of learning, etc. It is determined that the application of the andragogical approach to adult learning will increase its effectiveness by means of providing scientific and methodological support which is aimed for the use of personal preferences and prevention of negative phenomena in the educational process. It is noted that the continuous professional development of teachers involves the competencies related to androgyny, e-learning technologies, media literacy, information and cybersecurity. Emphasis is placed on the expediency of developing andragogical competence at the level of formal, non-formal and informal education.
