Abstract

The Internet has become one of the most critical technologies that enable people around the world to communicate with one other at speed, which did not occur in the past. Despite this great positivity of the Internet and social media programs that changed the world's perspective on communication, it created many problems, the most important of which is the problem of electronic bullying. In this paper, the aim is to discuss the phenomena of cyberbullying and the most important reasons for its occurrence. This was achieved by reviewing existing research about cyberbullying in general with the focus on the impact on children and young people. Moreover, the paper will examine the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on the level of cyberbullying in Saudi Arabia using primary data collected via an online survey with 205 responses.
