Introduction. Using of informational technologies became the part of the daily life of modern child. In this context teachers tasks is to use enthusiasm children work with computer with for the game, creative activity or texting with friends, to form the integral system of universal competence and experience of independent activity and personal responsibility. Mostly such situations occur in the project activity. Value of project-based learning lies in the fact that it is a tool which subordinate all pedagogic theories to the major factor of education – action; is a vital pedagogic technology that corresponds to specific needs of present; way of creating students skills to plan work, appreciate time, calculate the strength and resources. Children's ability appears in the situations when pupil gains experience in solving problems without previous ready-made solution. Purpose. Research objective is to figure out place and role of project activity in the context of forming of the economic notions of junior high school students. Methods. The following methods were used: studying of state educational documents, educational programs, analyzing of scientific and research work, methodical recommendations, textbooks and manuals. Originality. Described the role and place of the project activity in the context of forming of the economic notions in the junior high school students; characterized main stages of project activity and teachers actions and junior high school students during the solving of project task. Results. Project activity is a form of project-based learning and takes part in forming of student's personality during the educational process. Carrying out the projects pupils master algorithms of innovative creative activity, learn how to search and analyze the information, gain and apply knowledge, fill in the gaps, gain experience in solving of creative tasks. Project activity carries out developmental and educational functions, has certain principles and influence on forming of special skills in students which help them to get used to the requirements of modern world. Conclusion. Necessity of forming the economic notions of junior high school students predetermines of the changes in social life of all society members, importance of younger pupil preparation for the life, correct, grammatical and value-oriented orientation of them in economic phenomena and necessity of continuity in studying economics. In this regard requires significant improvement of the educational process content, creation of unusual pedagogic conditions for economic education of pupils in period of introduction of market relations. It's absolutely clear that it's difficult case which requires remarkable scientific justification, practical skills, and suggestions.
