SCIENTIFIC BASES OF DEVELOPING A CIVIL COMPETENCE FOR STUDENTS

Abstract

Introduction. The paper studies some aspects of a certain stage of society development, full-fledged civil education and training can be achieved only in the form of human desire to know the essence of the law through a respectful attitude. Every person should be aware of and feel the state protection and priority of constitutional rights and freedoms guaranteed by the constitution. Research has shown the need for civil education of students through the state mechanism of influence, taking into account Educational Institutions, age and home conditions in which the child is brought up. Purpose. The article touches upon the issue of main forms and goals of civil education as an important area of crime prevention among children and youth. This paper intends to make proposals on developing a civil education in Ukrainian Educational Institutions of various levels. Methods. A set of general scientific, pedagogical and psychological methods of theoretical and empirical research were used. Results. Emphasizing the concept of New Ukrainian School, it was noted that social and civic competence is one of the key competencies of students. Civic competence is defined as one of the ten key competencies of the New Ukrainian School concept. In the foreign scientific literature, the concepts of civic education are often associated with the categories of social protection and protection of social rights. This means that children and young people study civic issues. The implementation of the tasks and content of civic education is carried out primarily in the learning process. The study of humanitarian subjects is aimed at developing in them high moral and civic ideals such as intolerance of immoral phenomena, offenses and crime. Disciplines of the natural cycle allow us to address issues in various fields of law, including its regulations on nature protection, human health and others. An important role in the civic education belongs to the course of law, in the process of studying which they get acquainted with all branches of law, acquire knowledge, skills and abilities in a systematic way. The civic knowledge acquired during the lessons is deepened and expanded in extracurricular educational work. The choice of forms or methods of educational influence depends on the purpose, content, age and individual characteristics of students and the capabilities of the teaching staff. When choosing methods and forms of educational work, it is also important to take into account their popularity among students. Conclusion. The study revealed the important way to reduce illegal behaviour among students is proper civil education. Purposeful work of society in this direction can be one of the positive conditions for the development of a moral personality capable of counteracting illegal actions. The need to modernize civil education in all Educational Institutions of Ukraine was confirmed. It is necessary to improve pedagogical civil education technologies by defining criteria for the effectiveness of civil education, development of standard programs of civil education for students, increasing the time and responsibility of teachers for the results of civil education, creating video courses, movies, computer programs on civil issues. The author argues that analysis of effective methods and forms of education in order to develop the civil competence for students, observing the principles of integration, is promising.
