Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the effectiveness of a training program to develop the skills of Visual-motor coordination disorder for students with learning disabilities who are enrolled in learning resource rooms in the schools of the Directorate of Education in Abha region. The study population consisted of students with learning difficulties enrolled in resource rooms in government basic schools in the Directorate of Education in Abha region in the second semester of the academic year (2021/2022). The study sample consisted of (60) male and female students with learning disabilities, who were divided equally into two groups, experimental and control, who were randomly assigned. A quasi-experimental design with two experimental and control groups was used, where a pre-test was conducted on visualmotor coordination skills. The results indicated that there are no statistically significant differences in those skills, which indicates the equality of the two groups, then the training program was applied to the experimental group, while the control group did not receive any treatment for a period of twenty-two sessions. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of (α ≤ 0.05) in the visual-motor synergy skills between the averages of the experimental and control groups on the post-test, and the difference was in favour of the experimental group. There are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.05) in the skills of visual and kinetic synergy skills due to the interaction between the variables of gender and group on the post-test. The results were discussed in the light of the theoretical framework of the study, and then a set of educational recommendations and proposed studies were presented in light of the results that had been reached.
