Abstract
This paper examines the complex dynamics of gender and power in Shakespeare's plays, with a focus on the ways in which female characters exercise agency and autonomy in a patriarchal society. Through a critical analysis of Shakespeare's language, imagery, and dramatic structures, this study reveals how Shakespeare's plays challenge and subvert patriarchal norms, offering insights into the ongoing struggles for gender equality and social justice. By exploring the intersections of gender and power in Shakespeare's works, this paper contributes to a deeper understanding of the continued relevance of Shakespeare's plays in contemporary society.
