Abstract

We live in a world of very different names. They surround us everywhere, from toothpaste to household appliances. When we go out into the city, we come across the names of shops, salons, pharmacies, companies, restaurants and cafes, cinemas... All of them relate to the science of proper names - onomastics, and a huge set of different names represents the onomastic space. Ergonyms - names of enterprises, companies, corporations and other objects of functional orientation - occupy a special place here. The problem of interlingual and, more broadly, intercultural communication determines the relevance of the study. The object of the study is the onomastic space of Chinese ergonyms. The subject of the study is to identify the problems of translating ergonyms from Chinese into Russian. The purpose of the study is to analyse the onomastic space of Chinese ergonyms and identify the problems of their translation in the light of Chinese-Russian language communication.
