Abstract
The article discusses the history of Russian settlements Neverkinsky District Penza region since their inception (early XVIII century) to the present (2015). In addition to general information (settlement history, business activities, living conditions, etc.) The article de- scribes the demographic situation in these settlements during the analyzed period. It is charac- terized by the growth of population up to 30s. XX century and its sharp decrease from the middle of this century. As a result, in recent decades in the region of several settlements dis- appeared, and most of the remaining number of inhabitants has decreased greatly. Called the reasons for this situation
