Abstract
The present article considers of representation of politeness forms in the Turkish language. There are two types of representation: linguistic and paralinguistic. The former in- cludes lexemes bay, bayan, bey, beyefendi, cenap, efendi, efendim, hanım, hanımefendi, lütfen and affix -ler, the latter ? symbols, signs, gesture etc. the paralinguistic representation is given by describing the situation “greeting” el öpmek ‘to kiss hand'. There are some idiomatic expressions with “el öpmek” in the language. The linguistic and paralinguistic representation of turkish politness forms demonstrates connection between parts of priers “ethnos ? language ? culture”
