Abstract
The article deals with a case of the successful treatment of a pregnant woman with severe pseudomembranous colitis complicated by the syndrome of intestinal translocation and severe sepsis with multiple organ dysfunction. The case demonstrates the necessity of the infusion therapy and extracorporeal blood purification under control of invasive haemodynamic monitoring of PiCCO in severe hemodynamic instability. The case also shows the necessity of the intensive combination antibiotic therapy for the eradication of C. difficile and elimination of sepsis associated with intestinal translocation.
