Arising of monopolistic associations in Ukrainian provinces of the Russian empire and policy of the autocracy toward them

Abstract
The article highlights the issues of creating monopolies in the economy of Ukrainian provinces of the Russian Empire in the late XIX – early XX century, analyzes the causes that led to their appearance at the initial stage of formation of capitalist relations in the country. This, in particular, is the presence in some heavy industries the small amount of large and super-large companies, highly insufficient development these industries in general, extremely active protectionist policy of tsarism, significant financial support from its side some privileged companies and firms. In addition, the significant role played factor of adopting world known organizational forms of the formation of monopolies, Western cartels methods. The article also discusses the relationship of the tsarist government and monopoly capital, it is concluded that there was no subordination that these relations were quite complex and contradictory, and had a certain originality in different periods of development.
