Michael Lobodovsky and Dmytro Yavornytsky: a history of friendly relations and scientific cooperation

The author of the article has elucidated the main landmarks of biography and aspects of literary and scientific activities of the Ukrainian writer, lexicographer of M. Lobodovsky on the bases of epistolary sources, contemporaries' memoirs and scientific researches. The author also covers friendly and creative relations of the writer and outstanding scientist D.Yavornitsky during 1883-1919. The pinnacle of scientific activities of these representatives of the Ukrainian brain power became their long-lived labour for keeping Ukrainian word. The best patterns of their lexical records were included into Ukrainian dictionaries by B.Grinchenko and D.Yavornytsky.
