Abstract

This paper illustrates the importance of the development of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) into the school culture. Strategies to realize it can be done in several ways; (1) Power strategy, (2) persuasive strategy, and (3) normative re-educative. Habituation be important to support the development efforts of PAI into a religious culture in schools, because habituation is the result of a process of continuous exercise to be a religious culture in the school that will have positive implications towards the realization of the purpose PAI, which is to realize human religious and noble, the man who was knowledgeable, diligent worship, intelligent, productive, honest, fair, ethical, disciplined, tolerant (tasamuh), maintaining harmony in personal and social development and developing a culture of religion in the school community. Implementation of religious culture in schools as well as solutions to the problems of PAI related to the lack of hours of lessons and practices of learning that only pay attention to cognitive aspects alone and ignore the development aspects of affective and conative-volitif, the will and determination to practice the values of religious teachings in everyday life. Tulisan ini mengemukakan pentingnya pengembangan Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) menjadi budaya sekolah. Strategi untuk mewujudkan hal tersebut dapat ditempuh melalui beberapa cara, yakni: (1) Power strategi, (2) persuasive strategy, dan (3) normative re-educative. Pembiasaan menjadi hal penting untuk menunjang upaya pengembangan PAI menjadi budaya agama di sekolah, karena pembiasaan merupakan hasil dari proses latihan terus menerus sehingga menjadi budaya agama di sekolah tersebut yang akan berimplikasi positif terhadap terwujudnya tujuan PAI yakni mewujudkan manusia yang taat beragama dan berakhlak mulia, yaitu manusia yang berpengetahuan, rajin beribadah, cerdas, produktif, jujur, adil, etis, berdisiplin, bertoleransi (tasamuh), menjaga keharmonisan secara personal dan sosial serta mengembangkan budaya agama dalam komunitas sekolah. Implementasi budaya agama di sekolah sekaligus sebagai solusi dari problematika PAI terkait minimnya jam pelajaran dan praktik pembelajarannya yang hanya memperhatikan aspek kognitif semata dan mengabaikan pembinaan aspek afektif dan konatif-volitif, yakni kemauan dan tekad untuk mengamalkan nilai-nilai ajaran agama dalam kehidupan sehari-hari
