A REVIEW OF THE SUBJECTS IMAM TIRMIDHĪ CONTRADICTED HIS TEACHER IMAM BUKHĀRĪ IN HIS SUNAN

Imam Tirmidhī's Sunan is an important book in the Ilm al-Hadîth. This work has been assigned the fourth place after the works of Bukhārī، Muslim and Abū Dāwūd. In this work، Tirmidhī dealt with the subjects of ilm al- hadîth، ilm al-ricāl (hadith narrators) and Ilm al-Fiqh (jurisprudence). He formed his work by narrating the words of some hadîth narrators like Bukhārî، Dārimî، and Abū Zur'a. Sometimes he asked them some questions and wrote down their answers. Though Tirmidhī shared، in general، the same views with those hadîth narrators whose wisdom he benefited from، he sometimes thought differently from them. In this article، we tried to deal with the contradictory views of at-Tirmidhi with those of his teacher al-Bukhari.
