Abstract
The article gives an overview of phonetic, lexical-morphological and morphological-syntactical features of the Colombian national variation of Spanish; it also draws examples of meanings of certain language units, typical for different dialectal zones of the country. When classifying these zones, the special attention is paid to the system of regional nomination of Colombian ethnic groups, which are distinguished according to the territorial criterion. The semantic of such names tends to contain the attitude of inhabitants of different regions towards each other, which is also reflected in language idioms
