Abstract
The English tradition of the “natural garden style” was dominating in the estates of Russia from 1770 to 1830. The article is devoted to the landscape parks of Oranienbaum. It was tended to create a vast park composition, which included also the parts of the park formed in 1750–1770s. All this helps to specify the activity of the chief garden master Joseph Bush.English garden masters worked in Oranienbaum since 1790s, first on the territory of the so called Upper Park. In this period the development of the ensemble was due to J. Eaton. But the new period of the Oranienbaum's development begins in 1820s when it was inherited by the Great Duke Mikhail Pavlovich and his wife Elena Pavlovna. Thanks to the enthusiasm of this couple Oranienbaum flourishes newly in this epoch. In these years J. Bush fully remakes the Upper Park as well as the Low Park of the estate.
