Abstract
The article analyzes the process of creation of a new cultural space after the founding of the People's Republic of China at the end of the first half of the 20th century, in the new era of the socialist mode of Chinese society. The author describes new problems, which were posed for the artists, the particularity of formation of the new artistic images and new style in the art. It concerned especially the printmaking as the most mobile art form, which had a big tradition in China
