Abstract
The article reveals Sasanian motifs in stucco relief mihrabs of the X century (Shir-Kabir mosque and Friday mosque of Nayin). The author for the first time suggests comparative typology of motifs; analyzes lines of their further modification in early Islamic stucco decoration; reveals common features and principles, forming the basis of both mihrabs' decoration
