Abstract
Human values and value judgements are of great importance in terms of ensuring the happiness of the individual and the peace of the whole society in general. Since the Tanzimat (Reorganization) period, when the tradition began to be questioned in the Turkish society, our artists have contemplated on these matters a lot, and addressed, in their works, the subjects directly related to the social structure, such as “family, marriage, love, infidelity and illiteracy”. Especially “love” has found its place in all works, and has been experienced in a way that is contrary to the current values of the society. However, the number of the works of literature where love has been made the subject of the work in itself and whose reality and convincing power deeply affect the reader is rather few. Taking this as a reference point, in this study we aimed to review the elements that make the novel Hep O Şarkı (Always the same song) valuable by touching on its stylistic features, as well.
