THE STATES OF BALTIC DURING THE POST-SOVIET PERIOD: COMPARATIVE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC ANALYSIS

The analysis of level of social and economic development of the concrete country or group of the countries – the important instrument of determination of efficiency of their social and economic policy, validity of a civili-zation choice, base for forecasting of further development. The problem of entry into the market and develop-ments of the market relations of the states is of special interest for research - the former republics of the USSR, taking into account deep differentiation of the forms chosen by them and methods of independent development and transition to the market. Object of research in article are the Baltic States (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia), the members of the European Union, only from the former republics of the USSR. This circumstance assumes more ample opportunities and prospects for their development. At the same time, it and existence of more serious calls and problems connected with elimination of a gap in development with the average level of the European Union and also in relationship with neighboring countries, first of all, the Russian Federation. Object of research is the level of social and economic development of the Baltic States and its dynamics during the Post-Soviet period. Act as the purposes of article the comparative analysis of economic and social situation of the Baltic States against the European Union, among themselves, and also on comparable indicators with the Russian Federation. In the course of writing of article the following methods of the scientific analysis were used: inductive, deductive methods and method of the quantitative analysis.
