Abstract
The article presents an overview of current trends in the development of the securities market in the Russian Federation, shown his place and role in the further transformation of the economic system. The aim of the study was to determine the peculiarities of functioning, problems and opportunities of the securities market in promoting economic development and ways of increasing its effectiveness.
