THE EFFECT OF ORGANIZATIONAL CAPABILITIES ON FORMATION OF COMPETITIVE BEHAVIOURS: A RESEARH ON HOTEL BUSINESSES IN MEDITERRANEAN AND AEGEAN REGIONS

Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the effects of organizational capabilities in the formation of competitive behaviour of hotels. For this purpose a quantitative research has been conducted covering 3, 4 and 5 star hotel businesses in the Mediterranean and Aegean regions. A total of 177 hotel managers from the two regions were surveyed.In conclusion of the study certain dimensions of organizational capabilites and competitive behaviors of hotel and the effects of organizational capabilites in explaining competitive behavior of them have been defined.The results have demonstrated that innovation capability of hotels is effective in their offensive, defensive, and coopetitive behaviours. In addition, the logistics capability was determined to be effective in defensive competitive behavior. However, it is concluded that organizational learning capabilities did'nt explain any competitive behavior of the hotel businesses in a meaningful way. Based on the results academic and sectoral recommendations are given.
