Abstract
The paper highlights the biography and scientific-pedagogic activity of Aleksandr Vasilyevich Gurov, Professor of Kharkov University. Scientific works of the geologist are analyzed, and the role of А.V. Gurov in the formation of the information resource in the domain of geological science is emphasized.
