Abstract
This article is devoted to the analysis of language compression in the Japanese comics. As a result of the study, we found that compression is represented in speech economy, compression, in order to achieve a min- imum language unit. Such compression represents a concise volume of information and expressiveness by elimi- nating grammatical parts that are easily restored from the iconic component of the comics. However, we choose the methods of compression, depending on the environment, form and manner of communication. At the lexical level, the most commonly used methods of compression are word formation, substitution, conditional abbrevia- tions.
