FEATURES OF PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF PHILOLOGISTS-TEACHERS IN GALICIA IN THE EARLY TWENTIETH CENTURY

Abstract
Social and political changes in public life in Ukraine require training of highly qualified professionals, especially teachers, because spiritual culture of society depends on education. The study of history of teaching processes that took place in the early twentieth century can detect a special role of teachers in the education of nationally conscious citizens. Purpose of the article is the study of historical experience and features of training teachers philologists in Galicia in the early twentieth century. To clarify the situation of education at Western Ukraine the basic historical aspects affecting the education of the population were considered. A significant contribution to the cultural development made Ukrainian women's organizations and their educational activities in the late XIX - early XX century. Educational courses, schools, civic literacy contributed solving illiteracy problems and raising national awareness of adults. Seminaries for appropriate teacher training teachers and kindergarten teachers were based. In the article the basic requirements for teacher candidates were considered. Indicated that training and education is an art, but in the case if realized: 1) objectives and target of learning, 2) the means to achieve the best results, 3) the ability to apply learned into practice. It is noted that to some extent, everyone has the ability to learn, but to comprehend art training pedagogical skills are necessary. This article has concluded that the study of historical experience, analysis of the first female schools with teacher training, the study of training teachers philologists features in Galicia in the early twentieth century suggests that teacher philologists training was carried out in the context of an academic tradition of teacher training in teacher training institutions, educational courses, Institute of Education, State foreign language courses. In the early twentieth century vocational teacher education has developed the way of structuring educational content by dividing the theoretical and the practical, professional and teaching, more emphasis on independent teaching and research work of students. During teacher philologist training philological, pedagogical and methodological aspects were considered.
