Abstract

The article considers the development of mathematical methods in economics. It analyzes the state and defines the role of teaching mathematics in the professional education of future economists. In general, the concept of the economic and mathematical literacy is besed on: current knowledge of economics and mathematics, the ability to apply them in practice; economic and mathematical thinking, which is systematic, multi-variant and selectiv, flexibile, practical and potential etc. Teaching mathematics to future economists plays an important role since it is a general scientific basis for mastering the whole system of specific knowledge. Thus, the study of the issue of professional training of future economists meets the general practical requirements. Mathematic laws and concepts are widely used in practice for the analysis of certain economic processes. Mathematics is necessary for mastering fundamental and specific subjects which ensure basic economic knowledge and lay a basis for further professional education. The study of various economic phenomena is impossible without using economic-mathematic models, which are their simplified descriprion and account the most significant and decisive factors of the phenomenon under analysis. Thus, economic-mathematic models are not only the apparatus for obtaining economic regularities, but a widely used set of tools of practical problem solution in administration, business, banking and other domains of economy. Economics uses stochastic statistical methods to great extent. The ability to apply stochastic statistical apparatus in calculations, analysis, forecasting lay a basis for successful economic subjects learning: statistics, economy of the enterprise, economic analysis, economic risks, expenditures management and others. The advantages and necessity to use mathematic methods during teaching and learning specific subjects for future economists are explained. The main mathematic methods used in practical training of future economists are exemplified. The efficiency of applying mathematics in economics is determined by the fact that mathematic modelling is a powerful tool of studying economic phenomena, processes and systems. In depth analysis and conceiving various in size and volume flows of economic information will be impossible without sufficient knowledge and skills in the sphere of mathematic modeling of economic processes and information technologies.
