IMPLEMENTING THE INTEGRATIVE APPROACH TO ACADEMIC DISCIPLINES ELABORATING AT HIGHER EDUCATION ESTABLISHMENTS

Abstract

Introduction. The current stage of studying the laws for complex systems determines the necessity to deep integration processes in the society and science. The need for the XXI century students' holistic world view forming, based on the different sciences integration, is the result of reflected the modern science trends in the teaching content. In the context of interpretation the university's educational process as a formed educational system, integration is considered to be one of the aspects of its development that contributes to the further educational system promotion to a higher and organic integrity. Purpose. The article is aimed at identifying the ways of integration approach implementing to academic disciplines elaborating at higher education establishments. Results. The study proved that the empiric selection of teaching content has led to an inordinate increase of educational material, including information of minor importance. Excessive comminution of academic disciplines in the current university curriculum and unjustified expansion of their content make impossible taking into account the interests of the educational process members as well as the psychological and didactic aspects. The growth of educational material limits time for students' mental individual work and developing their interests, leads to information rote and doesn't promote the individuals' logical thinking and creative abilities development. The educational material integration is recognized to be the most effective way that optimizes improving the content of future specialists' training at higher pedagogical educational institutions. Integration as a pedagogical category is one of the educational process components related to purposeful combination of defined disciplines in the complexes that are the independent systems aimed at developing the students' integrated system of professional knowledge and skills. Originality. The following steps of elaborating the integrated academic disciplines are recommended: defining the goal of integration; selecting the objects and the components of integration; describing the factor that causes system creating and the integration core; finding out new connections between the integration object and components; creating new discipline structure; critical rethinking of teaching content; testing the newly developed systems (checking its effectiveness, adjusting the results). Conclusion. The integration of educational material provides meeting the society requirements to training highly qualified specialists; mobility and quick adaptation in the profession; increasing the didactic efficiency of learning through interdisciplinary correlation, integrated learning problems, reducing the list of academic disciplines in the curriculum, excluding information of minor importance and avoiding duplication of educational material in various disciplines; improving economic efficiency of pedagogical education.
