A SOCIAL WORKER’S PROFESSIONAL ASPECTS IN THE FIELD OF SOCIAL SECURITY

Introduction. Changes in the socio-economic situation of the country require the emergence of new professions, such as social security. Scarcity of this specialty in the labour market makes the current social workers to perform functions and duties inconsistent with his professional qualifications. Such services as the provision of constitutional rights of citizens, ensuring their social and legal guarantees of social policy, caring for receives certain benefits, and any other social help from the state, is a specific branch of social work. Purpose – to reveal the theoretical aspects of social security, the functioning of which is carried out through social workers. Methods. Reforms occurring in the country, aimed at streamlining all areas of life require changes in the social sphere, including the creation of highly oriented to the expectations of society system is a multidisciplinary task of the social security system, which should provide a comprehensive multilateral support person in dealing with various household tasks in the social field. Results. Today in the social sphere of Ukraine there are centers of employment and labour; social services for youth and the juvenile Affairs services, crisis centers and shelters for adults and children; territorial centers for work with the population, boarding schools and boarding houses; rehabilitation centers for people with special needs, as well as those who suffer from serious illness, socio-psychological departments at the enterprises, in educational institutions, institutions of internal Affairs, places of punishment, as well as about 60 thousand public organizations providing social services, protecting their rights, work to prevent social and personal problems. The rights and duties of masters in social work with the population are determined and approved by specially authorized Central body of Executive power on social policy. The provision of social services is based on the principles of targeted, individual approach, availability, voluntariness, humanity, privacy, responsibility of providers of social services for compliance with ethical and legal standards. Organizations involved in social security, have active support from the state, support national and international charities. Moreover, they are enshrined in the laws of the state and the Ministry of social policy. Originality. The article reveals the roles and responsibilities of social workers who work in the field of social security. We are talking about provision of social guarantees from the state for certain categories of citizens. It is noted that there is a need for a new specialty, namely "social security" as separate areas of social work with the population. Conclusion. The legislation of Ukraine is a certain base of social work provides its legal status, creating legal conditions for effective regulation of the social protection system, social assistance and social security of the population. But, in our opinion, it is already necessary to reflect on the need for specialists of a new direction in the social sphere of labour, such as social security. Most of these functions and responsibilities are not in the competence of the professional activities of social workers through their other training. So, today, it is imperative to develop and establish training in the specialty "social security".
