A Study on the Influence of Çanakkale Urban Parks on Life Quality

Regeneration of resources that human lose under the pressure of population increase in artificial environment as a result of urbanization and elevated urbanization is possible but this can be achieved by the presence and provision of recreational areas. This study aimed at investigating the effects of 5 areas selected in Çanakkale (Eski and Yeni Kordon, Sarıçay and its surrounding, Halk Bahçesi, Özgürlük Parkı) on livability of the city. In the study, current recreational use of selected five areas was assessed within the frame of SWOT external factors by the experts. At the end of the study, the quality level of Özgürlük Parkı was determined high as 79%, followed by Yeni Kordon (69%) good, Eski Kordon (68%), Sarıçay and its surrounding (63%) and Halk Bahçesi (58%) medium level.
