RETROSPECTIVE ANALYSIS OF PROBLEMS OF FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT EDUCATION OF DOCUMENT STUDY IN UKRAINE

Abstract

Introduction. Today, information and information and communication technologies have become an integral part of the modern information society. Increasing the role and increase the amount of information, in particular documentary information, as a socially significant resource, necessitates the ability of skilled specialists to have a high level of professional competence, able to navigate and understand the documentary information flows and arrays, organize and manage them, freely own information and communication technologies and use them efficiently in their professional activities. Historical and pedagogical researches related to the study of the genesis of education of document study in Ukraine in the context of socio-economic and information and technological development of society are of great importance in the process of educational and professional training of specialists in the document and information sphere. Purpose. The purpose of this article is logical-historical analysis describing the main stages of formation and development of quantitative and qualitative indicators of education of document study in Ukraine in order to be able to correctly assess its current state and outline the future prospects of vocational education. Results. The development of education of document study in Ukraine can be divided into four stages: the first stage of «Formation» from 1994 to 2003; The second stage of «Unification» from 2004 to 2007; The third stage «Development» from 2008 till 2013; The fourth stage of «Reformation» from 2014 to now. The first stage is characterized by a divergence in the content of the curriculum of domestic higher educational institutions and a certain inconsistency of conceptual approaches to the training of future specialists in the document study profile, as well as the design of Ukrainian document science as an independent science. The second stage was marked by the adoption in 2004 of the state standard of higher education of Ukraine on document study and information activity, which unified the diversity of existing approaches to the process of training specialists. And the inclusion in 2007 of a specialty in the new field of knowledge «Social Communications» became one of the decisive events in the development of education of document study in Ukraine. The third stage is characterized by significant scientific achievements in the husbands of document research and the active development of the direction of specialists document study and information activity training in Ukraine. The peculiarities of the fourth stage of the development of document study are the reformation of the formed, functioning system of training of specialists in the document and information sphere within the specialty «Document Study and Information Activity», consolidation of the new title of the specialty «Information, Library and Archival Affairs». Conclusion. A modern information society needs highly qualified specialists in the document sphere, which are capable of solving the tasks in the context of the socio-economic and information-technological development of the world. Historical and pedagogical studies, devoted to the study of the genesis and the main stages of the development of education of document study in Ukraine, play a significant role in the training of document analysts. Thus, knowledge of the preconditions of formation, stages and patterns of development of document study provides an opportunity to analyze the historical and pedagogical problems of a certain period of time and use the achievements of scientists and teachers in the implementation of high-quality vocational training of specialists document study in accordance with European educational standards and new requirements and needs of the labor market.
