Abstract

Introduction. The article is emphasized that XXI century is distinguished by new vectors of the global university education, which is a direct and logical continuation of the trends, characteristic of the Second academic revolution. Also changed the priorities of social development and the beginning of XXI century for university higher education sector were major upgrade mission and vision in the context of integration processes (society of knowledge and education, enterprise communication and higher education, social development and higher education) and the preservation of basic crops (international intellectual forum preserving the ethical component of relations between institutions of higher education and society). Purpose – outline vectors (trends) of university education in the XXI century. Methods: general science (analysis, synthesis, abstraction, comparison, generalization – to study theoretical positions), specifically research (problem-thematic, diachronic – to study the changes of isolating and defining trends of university education and future vector of development). Results. According to the objectives in this article author determined changes in the Higher education outlined period form the tendencies of its development; presents trends of higher education in the context of changes in the Second academic revolution; singled out projective trends of university education of the XXI century. It was emphasized that the domestic higher education aims to solve the task of raising the quality of teaching, the organization of educational process on a scientific basis, updating the content of higher education, provide effective educational technologies of continuous research and production activities, the creation of educational and research facilities, participation in the transcontinental system of Ukraine information, etc., requiring the synchronization process of education of the general tendencies of human society. Originality. The characteristic trends of domestic university education XXI century determine the lower quality of educational services because of forced to find additional sources of income; downward mobility; meritocracy in higher education; aging professional qualified teaching staff; expand training elite group of specialists' generalists like. Trends in higher education in the context of changes in the second academic revolution singled out at global trends and challenges of global standards and trends and challenges of higher education, particularly university education. Projective vectors (trends) identified as cross-border, politicization, institutionalization, growth rates of participation forecasting needs of society, the evolution of teaching and learning, commercialization and competition, noospherical university education, increase social responsibility. Conclusion. The beginning of the XXI century marked globalization, European integration, information, cross-border, the beginning of cooperation between higher education institutions and employers with the following content transformation of higher education to labour market needs, system of higher education, targeted educational policy of regionalization. As for the development of higher (university) education – improving the quality and creativity of universities, quality assurance in higher education, the a reforms in the European and geographic contexts with increased targeting educational programs to the labour market, changing roles and missions of universities, massing and elite of university education, the formation of a new thinking, creating conditions for training and development professionals.
