Abstract
Achieving intended learning outcomes in education is an ongoing topic within distance learning and educational communities. In this paper, the ILO diagram ? a novel conceptual model for curriculum development ? is proposed to support not only instructional designers in designing and developing courses of study, but also learners and instructors in performing the courses' learning and teaching activities. The relationships and constraints of the ILO diagram are introduced and discussed, a case study of applying the ILO diagram is demonstrated, and the contributions of the ILO diagram are summarised.
