Abstract
The role and place of Pushkin in Russian culture and history very accurately described V. O. Klyuchevsky the Historian poses next to two powerful figures of Russia's Peter the great and Alexander Pushkin. Two great men who lived in different centuries and epochs to be able to recognize, to see a powerful material and spiritual strength of the Russian people. The article provides an overview of Pushkin's poetry and prose from the point of view of the state and its rulers. The main stages of the poet's work: from youthful roman- ticism and praising autocracy and Russia, to realism, which determined the fate of the people, ruler and state. Of the rulers to win the one on whose side the people. According to the poet, the state must necessarily be monar- chical, where the ruler and his entourage will carry to the masses enlightenment, kindness, justice
